.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

1) Seasonably warm and mainly dry weather are expected over the
next couple of days.

2) A more active weather pattern is expected to emerge by the
middle of the week extending into the 4th of July holiday period
with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms returning.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are expected today and look
for seasonably warm and dry weather to take hold over the next
couple of days. For today specifically, breezy northwest winds may
be borderline Lake Wind Advisory criteria for Fort Peck Lake in
the afternoon. However, the strongest winds are expected to remain
just northeast of the lake and duration will be limited. Thus,
have held off on headlines for now.

Ensembles show upper ridging sliding east ahead of the next low
pressure system for the midweek. This will set up a more active
weather pattern heading into the 4th of July holiday. In short,
expect daily chances for thunderstorms to return in the afternoon
and evening hours for the second half of this week.
FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

NBM was used for the forecast population with minimal deviation
needed to capture expected trends. Confidence is high on mainly
warm and dry weather through the next couple of days. Confidence
is described as growing on increasing chances for thunderstorms to
return each day starting midweek.
