.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Mainly dry conditions are expected through Friday. Chances for
thunderstorms increase this weekend and early next week.

- Hot today then cooler Thursday as a strong cold front moves
  through Wednesday night/early Thursday.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

Northwest flow will begin to flatten out as a trough drops into
western Canada. This will pull warmer air into the region today
with a warm front early this morning. An isolated shower or
thunderstorm is possible early this morning. Surface low spins up
over southern Alberta with the upper trough, and will push a cold
front into Montana Thursday morning.

A zonal flow Thursday and Friday will keep the hot airmass to our
south. By the weekend, southwest flow and ridging along the
northern Rockies will increase temperatures could increase
thunderstorm chances. Humidity looks to increase as the upper flow
turns more from the south, so any thunderstorm could bring heavy
rainfall.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Confidence is high on the warmer temperatures today and cooler
temperatures on Thursday. Low confidence on any shower and
thunderstorm chances this morning.

No deviations from the NBM at this time.

DISCUSSION: A warm front could bring an isolated shower and
thunderstorm early this morning with some mid and high clouds.
Otherwise, skies will be mostly clear today and tonight.

by early afternoon, to the SW by late afternoon. Winds will become
light and variable this evening and a cold front Thursday morning
will turn the winds to the NW at 5 to 10 knots.
