.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:
1) Monday will feature breezy and dry weather conditions with a
slight uptick in temperatures.
3) Seasonable temperatures are expected much of this week with
frequent chances for precipitation - though no big storms are
expected at this time.
WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Another cool/raw day across the area as Canadian high pressure
sends plenty of cold air on E or NE winds this afternoon. This
surface high will finally get nudged off to the east as an upper
low pushes onshore into the Pacific NW Monday.
SW flow ahead of the low will send in some milder Pacific air into
the region, however some clearing tonight will allow temps to drop
into the teens over the NE to the 20s SW.
After a cold start Monday, temps should recover to near normal
levels with highs in the 40s NE to the low 50s SW.
A weak disturbance will bring in small chances for rain Monday
night and Tuesday, with the 0.1-0.25" possible south of a
Zortman-Jordan line. Little to no rainfall is expected north of a
Whitewater-Glasgow-Sidney line.
The next storm to look out for will be affecting the SE zones
Tuesday Night-Wednesday as a system moves into South Dakota from
the Rockies and spins up. Right now, an inch of snow is possible
south and east of the Yellowstone River but will have to be
watched if this system backs up. Not good for newborn livestock
with this system, more so the closer you get to SD.
Through Friday, a western upper trough remains in place with near
or below temps with the chances for snow and/or rain. Then an
upper ridge builds over the Pacific NW and allows for possible
warming/drying to take place next weekend.
FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Blended tonight`s low temps with NBM10 as NBM has been much too
warm with the present airmass. With the change of airmass Monday,
NBM may be back on track with temps this week. TFJ
